Before co-founding Designer for a Day in 2008, Joan worked as an interiors project designer for Bank of Hawaii and Leo A Daly. As Director of Interior Design for the Castle Design Group, she was responsible for full service interior design, including purchasing for Castle Resorts & Hotels. She continues to be a partner with her architect husband, John, in Robinson-Whitaker Design.

Interior design services for redecorating my living room, including helping me choose new rug, sofa, recliner, desk, and entertainment unit. Loved everything so much that I asked her to redesign my kitchen, which she did with fantastic results. Am now working with her to entirely re-do my master bedroom.
